Blessed Are You (Written 10/16/20)

Great God YHWH, Holy and good,

make Your slaves serve, just like we should.

To love and to give, to bear the good fruit,

we know we are His, His word is our food.

Show mercy to us, Lord, we're not who we should be,

we struggle with sin, God, its the Spirit Who we need.

To make us and form us, and sanctify our souls,

to comfort and strengthen, to fill our empty bowls.

So please come, O Spirit, O please don't delay,

to create in us a clean heart, please do this today.

We hunger, we thirst, to be made like the Son,

to share in His great joy, in this victory He's won.

We love You and praise You, the Great and Mighty Trinity,

we look unto Divine Truth, to speak of Your Infinity.

Infinite, blameless, and incomprehensible,

totally righteous and completely unattainable.

Apart from the Son, Spirit, we would be lost,

and headed for destruction, but He paid the greatest cost.

So in reverence and awe, we fall down at the throne,

You have shattered the law, and for our sins You've atoned.

Blessed are You, Great and Holy Spirit,

Love between the Father and Son, we praise You as we hear it.

That the Awesome King now lives inside,

We're clueless how to live, but in You we abide.
